The North Woodside Community Centre is proud to offer a variety of programs over three sessions: Fall, Winter, and Spring. See below for information regarding the programs that are being offered for our current session, including start dates, time, and prices. Dates and times of programs may change; please continue to check back.

Once sent, a clerk will call to confirm availability in class and take payment. Once payment is received registration is confirmed. Registration is not confirmed until payment is received. |

Pickleball - Recreational
Pickleball is a unique paddle sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It is a low impact sport that can be played at any pace. This program is for players who have some experience with the game and feel comfortable with their ability to play. Players can reserve a spot each day by calling the Centre after 8:30 am on the day of play. Court is limited to 8 players. Once the 8 spots have been filled, the court will be closed to others.
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Pickleball - Beginner
This is an instructional drop-in for the first time player as well as someone who is a novice and requires more instruction on the rules and more confidence and experience with the game. Group size will be limited to eight. The drop-in will be facilitated by an experienced Pickleball player. Must register to reserve a spot by calling the Centre 902-463-9276.

Top Hats and Roses 50+ Fitness Club
Looking for a great fitness program for seniors? This program is low impact in nature and an excellent venue for those who have a balance or coordination issue. There are specific exercises for anyone suffering from arthritis. Each day weights are used to work on strength and endurance. Chairs will be provided for participants who find it difficult for some types of floor exercises to ensure they still benefit from the exercise. Every class ends with stretching, flexibility and relaxation exercises for the entire body. Exercise is done to music from the 50's to 80's! Fun is had by all and everyone is welcome. All participants should bring their own mats.

Play the Guitar (Have Played Before)
Get together with Holly Blackler to learn to play your guitar. You will learn strumming, picking and chord progression by focusing on playing songs alone and with a group. Bring your guitar, a guitar strap, electronic tuner and some soft picks. Come and enjoy learning to play your guitar.

Nia (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) combines natural movements from three dance arts (Modern, Jazz, Duncan), three martial arts (Aikido, Tai Chi, Taekwondo) and three healing arts (Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander technique). It is a holistic barefoot movement practice that is guided by 'sensing inward' and 'feeling good'. Nia can help improve flexibility, mobility, agility, strength, and stability as well as encourage posture, grace, balance, coordination, cardiovascular and cognitive function, and self-confidence.

Raise the BARRE
Working at your own difficulty level at your own barre. This full body dance-inspired fitness class will help you squat, plie, lunge and cursty to increased muscular strenght and endurance, core strenght, balance and flexibility. Raise the barre is a barefoot fitness class. Be prepared to work in your bare feet or grippy "yoga" socks. Please bring a water bottle and a yoga mat.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion.

Your feet will be itching to stomp and slide and no one will want to sit on the slide! We'll learn a dance step called the "Vine". So shine up your boots and shoes and step in "Line"
