NWCC Top Hats and Roses 50+ Fitness
Looking for a great fitness program for seniors? This program is low impact in nature and an excellent venue for those who have a balance or coordination issue. There are specific exercises for anyone suffering from arthritis. Various types of equipment are used and provided such as tubing, balls and weights. Chairs will be provided for participants who find it difficult for some types of floor exercises to ensure they still benefit from the exercise. Every class ends with stretching, flexibility and relaxation exercises for the entire body. Exercise is done to music from the 50's- 80's. Fun is had by all and everyone is welcome. A schedule of the program is provided. Program runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. Drop-in fee $5.00 or a punch card for 10 sessions for $40.00. Fall session starts

Pickleball is a unique paddle sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It is a low impact sport that can be played at any pace.
Recreational Pickleball: This is a recreational program that runs 5 days a week Monday - Friday until June 26, 2020 1:30-3:30 pm. This program is for players who have some experience with the game and feel comfortable in their ability to play. Players can reserve a spot each day Monday - Friday by calling the Centre after 9:00 am. Court is limited to 12 players. Once the 12 spots have been filled the court will be closed that day for others. This program is for participants to get together with others to enjoy a fun afternoon of pickleball. Drop-in fee $3.00. Punch card of 10 punches will be available for $20.00.
Beginner Pickleball: This is an instructional drop-in for the first time player as well as someone who is a novice and requires more instruction on the rules/ and more confidence and experience with the game. The program will run for 4 weeks on Wednesday and Friday April 29-May 22, 2020 from 12:30-1:30 pm. Group size will be limited to eight. The drop-in will be facilitated by an experienced pickleball player. . Please call 902-463-9276 and reserve a spot. Drop-in fee $3.00. Punch card of 10 punches will be available for $20.00.
Every Friday night the Centre opens its door to youth ages 7-12 years This drop-in is free. Come out and play your favourite video games, pool, board games, air hockey and much more with your friends and meet new friends. Show your musical skills with Rock Band and Karaoke. There will be dodgeball/other games in the gym on designated nights. Come and enjoy a fun night out!

Carpet Bowling Club
We are very excited to be offering a new
sport that will run from the fall to the end of spring. The NWCC Carpet Bowling
Club will run every Thursday until May 28, 2020 from 10:00 - 12:00 noon.
This sport is for ages 50+. Carpet Bowling offers great social and
physical activity.The sport has been a
popular past-time for more than 100 years across the globe. Carpet Bowling involves playing on carpets that are 30 feet long and six feet wide and is a variation of lawn
sport is low impact and can even be performed if you need to stay sitting. The
most important part is being able to bend and throw the ball.
To become part of this sport a North Woodside Community Centre membership must be purchased for $5.00 for the year and each Thursday, players
pay a $2 drop in fee that helps pay for the carpets and the space.
Long-time member of the
Sackville team, Kenneth Isles, now lives in Dartmouth and will be facilitating
.At the end of the season a
luncheon will be held for all players. To purchase your membership and to sign up you can call or drop into the
