Week 1:  July 5-9     3-2-1 BLASTOFF!!

Ready for a cosmic adventure?  Let’s start off the summer by diving into another universe.  Join us as we take off for an intergalactic ride for the week, filled with comets, spaceships, planets and even some extraterrestrial life.  Come defy gravity with some great games and activities, indoors and out.  This week we will be traveling to the Discovery Center to check out some cool science exhibits and will have a variety of space-themed activities for the week.  Like always, we will be traveling to the YMCA for swimming, Banook Lake for some dragon boating and bowling and a BBQ on Friday to finish off the week.

Week 2:  July 12-16     King Tut’s Tomb

Are you fascinated with the pyramids?  Ever wanted to learn hieroglyphics?  Join us as we go back in time to ancient Egypt as we learn how King Tut ruled in his time.  We will be building pyramids, writing as the Egyptians do and having an ancient good ol’ time as we venture down our own Nile.  Be careful that we don’t go too far back in time! You might even see the appearance of some dinosaurs as this time-traveling week takes you way way back.  This week we may have some ancient ancestors visit us and may do a bit of our own Egyptian pottery.  Like always, we will be traveling to the YMCA for swimming, Banook Lake for some dragon boating and bowling and a BBQ on Friday to finish off the week.

Week 3:  July 19-23     A Holiday-A-Day

Do you love holidays?  Ever wish you could experience them all at once?  Well this is just the week for you!  Join us as we do a holiday-a-day at camp, venturing through our most favorite holidays.  Get ready to decorate a tree and some cookies, as we get festive for Christmas.  Then it’s time to decorate some eggs and have a major Easter egg hunt as we celebrate Easter.  Are you Irish?  Bring out the clovers and your best green outfit as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with green juice and a silly carnival.  We aren’t done yet as you dig out your best costume to celebrate Halloween with the gang.  Don’t get too scared as we may even set up our own haunted house!  Lets close the week and give thanks for camp as we decorate our table for a feast.  It’s turkey time as we sit down for a nice dinner together.  Like always, we will be traveling to the YMCA for swimming, Banook Lake for some dragon boating and bowling and a BBQ on Friday to finish off the week.

Week 4:  July 26-30     Exploration Nation

Got your hiking boots ready?  Get ready to explore as we make our own adventure for the week.  The theme is everything outdoors as we do woodsy activities and games all week.  Get ready for a scavenger hunt to beat all scavenger hunts and join us as we venture on our ever-popular trip to McNab’s Island to explore the old forts for the day.  Learn to tie knots, build forts and beat the forces of nature as we set out for a thrilling week of fun.  Like always, we will be traveling to the YMCA for swimming, Banook Lake for some dragon boating and bowling and a BBQ on Friday to finish off the week.

Ready to strut your stuff?  Think you can walk the red carpet as we bring back our movie-themed week for some superstar fun.  Join us as we learn about popular culture, do fun acting related games and capture the entire week on film.  As always we will have a private screening of our masterpiece at the end of the week.  This week we will venture to Empire Theatres for some movie-fun, and maybe even check out a movie equipment company to find out how stuff works.  The popular recycle-fashion show will be brought back and a guest photographer may make an appearance so bring your best pose.  Like always, we will be traveling to the YMCA for swimming, Banook Lake for some dragon boating and bowling and a BBQ on Friday to finish off the week.

Week 6:  August 9-13     Survivor Woodside Meets The Amazing Race

What’s camp without our Survivor week?  Join us as we battle the elements, compete head-to-head and work on team-building skills as we go another year with our Survivor theme.  Help your tribe take the title of Survivor Woodside Winner as we compete in skill, strength, endurance and power challenges.  Think you have what it takes?  Bring your best cooperative and hard-working attitude as we have a variety of challenges and activities throughout the week.  We will be traveling to the ever-popular Ground Zero Climbing Gym as you push yourself to the limit and head to Shubie Park for our fun outdoor challenges.  Of course, we will be crossing the Survivor with a skill requiring, all out Amazing Race Game one morning.  Follow the clues with your team and see if you can make it to the end to win the big prize!  Like always, we will be traveling to the YMCA for swimming, Banook Lake for some dragon boating and bowling and a BBQ on Friday to finish off the week.

Week 7:  August 16-20     Aqua Adventures

Let’s get wet! Get ready to be soaked as we do anything and everything to do with water.  We will be swimming as much as possible, tempting fate with water balloon challenges and games and enjoying some water related crafts and activities.  Bring your bathing suit or prepare to get soaked as we go full out, rain or shine.  This week is sure to be a spectacular one as we travel to the Spryfield wave pool for a watery adventure and possibly the Bedford Institute of Oceanography to check out some watery creatures.  Like always, we will be traveling to the YMCA for swimming, Banook Lake for some dragon boating and bowling and a BBQ on Friday to finish off the week.

Week 8:  August 23-27     Summer Safari
