The NWCC is proud to offer a range of programs, beginning in January.  See below for information regarding our different programs, descriptions, start dates and price.  Register by phone, in person, or by email.  Payment is due in full one week after you register for a program.  Cash, Debit or Mastercard/Visa (new!) is accepted.  Call 463-9276, email northwoodside@ns.sympatico.ca, or drop by at 230 Pleasant St. in Dartmouth to register now!

Social Dance

Would you ilke to go to that wedding or party and know how to dance with style?  Well come out and learn, or refresh your dancing abilities in the waltz, jive, cha cha, polka and others under the guidance of professional dance instructor, Mike Kaplan.

Floor Hockey

The North Woodside Community Centre is  continuing to provide a Floor Hockey Drop-In this winter for youth ages 8-12 years.  We have all the indoor hockey equipment you need to come off the streets and into a safe and fun environment where you will not be interrupted.  Come down each Monday and Thursday nights to play your favorite sports with friends.

QiGong

Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice using gentle body movements to open meridians and promote healing.  CFQ (Chaoyi Fanhuan Qigong) Qigong works to harmonize the body, mind and spirit while eliminating pain and illness.  Qigong is gentle, very relaxing and effective for all ages.

Gentle Tai Chi for Health (full)

Originating in ancient China, Tai Chi is an effective exercise for health of mind and body. Although an art with great depth of knowledge and skill, it can be easy to learn and soon delivers its health benefits. Tai Chi focuses on improving posture, building strength, balance and flexibility through slow, fluid movements combined with mental imagery and deep breathing. Although this 10 week  program was specifically designed for people living with diabetes it will be of benefit to anyone. We invite you to join Deidre in the first steps on the path to healthier living.

Line Dance

Line dancing has been around for many years and is still a great dance form to learn. Line dancing is ideal for singles and non-dancers as the steps are simple and do not involve a partner. Come join us and participate in this popular dance form. Enjoy new friendships while exercising in an enjoyable atmosphere. During the first class you will learn dance steps and the names of the dance steps and by the end of the class you will go home knowing a Line Dance. Each week will bring a new step and dance as well as reviewing. Instructor is Marilyn Pellerine.

Ukulele for Adults -

Want an instrument that is fun and easy to play? All you need is a ukulele and some ukulele basics. Song, chords and tuning can be learned the first lesson. Instructor Raymond will mke learning the ukulele a fun experience. Come and join us.
